Key Dates for GST and Superannuation (SG)
When you are busy in your business, due dates can sneak up on you before you know it. Making sure you meet your statutory lodgement dates keeps your business running smoothly and stress levels down.
Your bookkeeper should be keeping you updated with your upcoming payment requirements and if you are using Xero or MYOB both GST and Super can be lodged straight from your software.
Here are a few dates to keep you on track for the first quarter of 2020.
21 March - Lodge and pay February monthly Activity Satement
27 March - AUSKEY is replaced by MyGovID
31 March - End of 2019/2020 Fringe Benefit Tax Year
21 April - Lodge and pay March monthly Activity Statement
28 April - Lodge and pay Jan-Mar quarterly Activity Statement
28 April - Lodge and pay Jan-Mar quarterly Superannuation Guarantee (SG)
Make sure you have lodged your GST and Super in plenty of time as ATO fines and penalties do apply for late lodgement and payment.
If you are using BPAY or direct debit there can be a delay of a day or two and if you use a Super Clearing House the delay can be up to five working days.
If the due date falls on a weekend or a public holiday you are able to lodge on the next working day.
